It turned out to be a pretty hood season for deer hunters in Iowa. The Iowa Department of Natural Resources says over 105 thousand deer were shot during the various seasons, which is a four per cent increase over last year. DNR spokesperson Tyler Harms says that while that number was up, the number of hunters was down.

Harms credits the good weather during the seasons as a bonus factor in the successful harvest.
