A quartet of Marshalltown Police Officers WAS honored last night at the City Council meeting for their efforts in saving a life last September. Melida Ruopp, Dawn Blahnik, Brad Mauseth and Vern Jefferson responded to a medical emergency. They managed to stop the man from bleeding to death and keep him stable until medical personnel arrived.
Police Chief Mike Tupper presented a four with the department’s Lifesaving Award. A packed council chamber responded with a standing ovation for the four officers.
