It turns out the victim in the murder case from back on Saturday morning here in Marshalltown was a resident of the Iowa Veterans Home. 48 year old John Anderson died after being taken to Central Iowa Health Care. Captain Brian Batterson of the Marshalltown Police Department says Anderson was found on the ground in an alleyway bleeding after a nearby downtown business had closed around two a-m. A statement was released Tuesday morning By Commandant Jodi Tymeson says “our thoughts and prayers are with his family, we appreciate the efforts of the Marshalltown Police Department”. Meanwhile the suspect in the case Brandon Paul Skidmore remains in the Marshall County Jail on a charge of Second Degree Murder.
