The Marshaltown City Council will meet Monday afternoon at 5:30 p.m. Action may take place on a request by residents of the Village Coop to put up a couple of street lights along the far west side of Merle Hibbs Boulevard. The residents said they felt the area was dark. City officials originally told the residents that an ordinance drafted in 1973 prohibited the request and they also wanted to look into the possibility that the developer of the project might pick up the cost of the street lights estimated to cost between $3,700 and $3,000.
