The Marshalltown Community College softball team survived the first portion of the Region 11 playoffs Friday by beating Southeast Community College 5-1 and then losing to Indian Hills Community College 6-1. the team is now 28-23 on the season headed into a play-off game Saturday against Muscatine Community College. Game time is 11 a.m. You can follow the results on the MCC athletic department website. Meanwhile on Friday the Marshalltown Community College baseball team beat Iowa Western twice by scores of 7-4 and 4-1. MCC will now play IWCC twice on Monday afternoon where the weather is anticipated to be better than Saturday and Sunday. The Tiger baseball team is 28-16 on the year.
