(Des Moines, IA) – We have an update now on a sad story involving a 10-year-old boy who was hit by a car in Des Moines this past weekend. Family members of 10-year-old Luis Petrat say, the young boy is in a lot of pain but is listed in stable condition. The boy’s mother says, Luis suffered several fractured bones and has swelling on his brain. The boy was riding his bike when he collided into the driver’s side of a silver van in the area of Guthrie Avenue. The driver of the van was charged with driving on a suspended license.
