At one point Monday afternoon in the listening area, the temperature had reached 87 with calm winds and it felt like July instead of September. Later the winds picked up peaking out of the north at 24 miles per hour. Then the National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch. An isolated storm formed in Tama County around 3:30 p-m with gusty winds and hail involved. Later storm warnings were issued for Poweshiek and Jasper Counties. Heavy rain was reported at Marion County also in the Lucas and Monroe area. Cloud rotation was reported in the Millerton area of southern Iowa. In the Marshalltown area .33 one hundreths of an inch of rain was reported. More rain possibilities are in the works for tonight, tomorrow and Thursday.
