The Atlanta Hawks are the first team to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers this season.

Dennis Schroder scored a career-high 27 points and Kent Bazemore added 25 as the Hawks knocked off the Cavs, 110-106 in Cleveland. Paul Millsap finished with 21 points for the Hawks, including a basket that put Atlanta ahead by five in the final minute.

The Cavaliers sliced a 15-point deficit to two points in the closing seconds before Bazemore nailed a jumper to ice the victory for the 5-2 Hawks.

Kyrie Irving had a team-high 29 points, Kevin Love had 24 and LeBron James scored 21 of his 23 in the second half.

The Cavs are 6-1 following their first meaningful loss since Game 4 of the NBA Finals. The defending champs were the last team to lose this season.
