A cold snap is back in the weather picture here in the listening area. When it rained two days ago, there was apparently .77 hundreths of an inch of rain in Marshalltown. The ground was frozen and the run off from the rain had no place to go and water ponded including here in Marshalltown at Riverview Park and the dog park there. That water has frozen and the dogs took the mini frozen ponds in stride as they visited Wednesday. The cold arrived Wednesday night into Thursday and some light snow fell in Marshalltown Thursday morning along with some brisk north winds. Marshalltown had a high of 31 Wednesday with a peak wind gust of 30 miles per hour out of the north.
