Thursday was a day of clean up work in the listening area after Wednesday`s storm. As daylight broke it was evident that a lot of tree and roof damage was caused by the storm which had 60 to 70 mile per hour winds. Hard hit in the Marshalltown area was the Riverside Cemetery and also the campus of the Iowa Veterans Home. A call for volunteers to help with the clean up effort was made. There were power outages which touched off a cancellation of the school day in the Marshalltown and the BCLUW school districts. Now rain Friday and Friday night will slow things down. Cooler and rainy weather for the weekend will now be in the weather picture.
