The storm that blew through the area Wednesday contained horizontal rain and straight line winds that considerable damage in areas of Marshalltown and Marshalltown and two homes badly damaged. That word from Kim Elder of the Marshall County Department of Emergency Management who says there were no real signs of tornadic activity. Those who still have tree remnants to drop off the city compost facility is open Saturday and Sunday.
