Today is Heat Awareness Day in Iowa as observed by the National Weather Service. Meteorologist Kelsey Angle says its important to prepare for the process of enduring the heat which is coming in particular Saturday and Sunday with record or near record high`s predicted for the listening area. Angle says keep yourself hydrated, eat sensibly and check on the the elderly and pets during times of very warm weather. The forecast is calling for highs of 97 both Saturday and Sunday.
