City of Marshalltown officials held the last in a series of educational efforts called Budget 101 at the Marshalltown Public Library Thursday night. City Administrator Jessica Kinser and City Finance Director Diana Steiner lectured on how city finances work, the city is holding a special election on Tuesday that would if passed redistribute the Local Option Sales Tax. There were several residents in attendance and they had questions to ask, it was by far the biggest crowd the city had in four tries at conducting these Budget 101 sessions.
