The Ames Police Department has concerns about traffic for the Iowa/Iowa State Football game Saturday. Commander Geoff Huff says tailgaters start out early and they expect traffic to pick up between four and five in the morning, the gates don’t open till six. Kick off is at eleven. The real problem could be afterwards. Everyone will want to leave at the same time. Huff says they hope because of the good weather, people will want to linger and slow down some of the bottlenecks in traffic in the routes out of Ames.
