Ten candidates have filed their papers with the Marshalltown City Clerks office for a run at city offices on November 7th. Two candidates for Mayor: Attorney Joel Greer and retired businessman Gary Thompson. Two candidates for 1st Ward City Council: Sue Cahill and Dan Kester. One candidate running unopposed for the Ward three City Council seat in incumbent Mike Gowdy. Five candidates will be seeking two At-Large City Council seats in incumbents Bill Martin and Bethany Wirin and challengers Mark Eaton, Brittany O’Shea and David Shearer. The election is Tuesday November 7th.
