Area teams went one for two at the State Girls High School Basketball Tourney yesterday.

In a game heard on 1230 KFJB, South Tama was eliminated by Crestwood  66 to 28 in a 3A quarterfinal game.

In 1A, Grundy Center advanced to the semi-finals with a 46-45 win over Iowa City Regina. The Spartans will face Treynor at 10:00 a.m. Friday morning. Treynor defeated West Sioux 54 to 30 yesterday.

A reminder, schools start at 10:00 a.m. in Grundy Center this morning due to last night’s late start for the Spartan’s  win. With the win, there were will be no school in Grundy Center Friday, as everyone will be at the Well anyway!

Today’s agenda at the girls state tourney includes Dike-New Hartford taking on Cascade at ten this morning. then at 3:15 this afternoon, AGWSR takes on elk Horn-Kimballton in a 1A quarterfinal clash.
