The debate continued in the Iowa House and Senate yesterday as competing tax plans were the subject of more discussion. Should taxes be cut 8 percent? 9 percent? What about corporate tax cuts?
Representative Guy Vander Linden, a Republican from Oskaloosa, leads a ways and means committee in the Iowa House. Republicans on that panel approved a 300-million dollar tax-cutting plan Thursday afternoon.
A GOP Senate plan was refereed to as “bold and prudent.” bt Randy Feenstra of Hull.
Vander Linden, says it’ll be “at least next week” before a final resolution.
The daily expense money legislators get runs out next Tuesday.
