If you missed the thunderstorms that raked Cventral Iowa last night, you were fortunate. The storms packed high winds, hail, lightning and downpours.

Power was lost and trees were felled in several communities, including Ames, Gilman, LeGrand and  Grinnell.

Wind gusts of 76 were reported in Boone County, 64 mph in Ames,  61 in Eldora and 53 in Marshalltown. Ames got 1.4 inches of rain, while Marshalltown received just over three-quarters of an inch of rain.
