Story County has been added to the list of counties proclaimed disaster areas due to severe weather and flooding. Story was one of nine counties named in a disaster proclamation by Governor Kim Reynolds. Applications and instructions are available on the Iowa Department of Human Services website.

The flooding has also wreaked some havoc at state parks. George Wyth, Ledges State Park and Big Creek State Park are among the parks that have at least some areas closed due to flooding.
