The Cougars made a statement and then some, charging into the 1A state championship title game with a 12-5 thumping of Akron-Westfield yesterday at the state tourney in Fort Dodge. A four run fourth inning helped the AGWSR offense support starter Taryan Barrick who went all the way on the mound.

The Cougars will face Collins-Maxwell in tonight’s title tilt. Collins-Maxwell ousted Lisbon one to nothing in yesterday’s other semi-final contest. The Championship game at six tonight at Harlan Rogers Park.
