The Marshalltown City Council has added some “umphh” to the code for dangerous buildings in town, post tornado. The updated language is hoped to help the City get some answers regarding buildings which are still sitting much as they were after the July 19th twister.
The Council also directed City Administrator Jessica Kinser to move ahead with plans to offer 50-thousand dollars to help a non-profit agency hire a construction manager to assist the Long Term Recovery Committee in getting residences repaired.
Concerns continue to center on those homes which need some type of repair to make them livable before the winter hits Central Iowa.
