Tuesday 8th July 2025

As you probably have heard, the Trump Administration late Friday denied the request for federal funding for individuals in the wake of the July 19th tornadoes in Central Iowa.  The stated reason was that there wasn’t enough damage to warrant federal aid.

It is the second request from Governor Kim Reynolds for individual aid due to storms that has been denied. The first was for July flooding. The Governor appealed that ruling. It’s anticipated the Governor will appeal this second denial as well, which of course, includes the damage to folks in Marshalltown.

A request for federal funds for public use was approved earlier last week for Marshall County.
