It has been a long strange trip for Kyle Kempt. The Iowa State signal caller was granted a sixth year of eligibility after being injured last season. Then he was injured in the season opener versus Iowa. Now, Kempt has seen freshman Brock Purdy emerge as the starting quarterback for the Cyclones

Kempt feels 100 percent though he is wearing a brace on his knee. He says there were times he did not think he would be able to return this season.
