A garage fire kept Marshalltown fire fighters busy on Saturday night.

Firefighters were called to the 900 block of Jackson Street and found a two-car garage ablaze, threatening the house as well as a house next door.

Due to the cold conditions, a fire hydrant failed but a second hydrant kept running and the fire was put out within half an hour.

The garage was destroyed, no one was hurt.
