Friday was really a triumph for Woodbury Elementary and the Marshalltown School District. 300 volunteers showed up to help put together a number of new playground equipment units, pergolas, paint maps on the blacktop and work in the summer heat to do it.

The district was hoping for 200 volunteers to help put together the equipment provided via a grant from equipment maker KaBoom and Dr. Pepper/Kuerig. Woodbury principal Anel Garza says the project has and will make a difference for the students.

Fareway, Marshalltown company and others also lent a helping hand, providing snacks and support for the project. ..not to mention all those volunteers.
