Alison L. Sly, 67, of Union, IA, passed away Friday, April 24, 2020, at Hansen Family Hospital in Iowa Falls, IA. Private Family Services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2020. Funeral Services will be live streamed at 10:30 a.m. and available for the public to view on the Anderson Funeral Homes Facebook page. Alison Lucille Baum was born April 27, 1952, to Robert and Dorothy (Twedt) Baum in Eldora, IA. She was a graduate of the Class of 1970 from the Union/Whitten High School. Alison studied at the Salvador College of Hairstyling. She began work as a hairstylist and then was employed at Halo’s Cafe for Marge Snook. Alison was united in marriage to Gerald Robert Simpson in 1972 in Union. They were blessed with two daughters. He died in 1977. She married Wayne Eugene Sly on February 14, 1980, in New Providence, IA. They were blessed with a son. Wayne died in 2007. Alison was employed at the Iowa Veterans Homes as a CMA/CNA, and previously had been employed at the Zearing Nursing Home, the Eldora Nursing Home and Rehab as a hairstylist and CMA/CNA. She was a member of the Union Community Church. Alison’s hobbies included crocheting and baking. She loved spending time with her pets and family.

Alison is survived by her children: Leann (Saeed) Tarokh of Cary, NC, Karrie Simpson of Eagleville, MO, Eric (Tonya McEwen) Sly of Union; eight grandchildren: Robert, Michael, Aiden and Emma Tarokh; Joseph Simpson; Madison Wessels, Kailan and Leah McEwen; her siblings: Karen (Leonard Eakes) Blair, Sandra (Bud) Trittien, Nancy (James) Lewis, Robin (Jay) LaVelle, Mike Baum, Kim (Gary) Youngman, and her friend, John Underberg, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and both of her husbands, Gerald Simpson and Gene Sly.
