Nebraska’s crop ratings saw some sharp declines this week after several days of hot, dry and windy conditions.
The good to excellent rating on corn declined from 83 to 71
percent, while soybeans dropped from 82 to 78 percent good to excellent. Sorghum
rates 55 percent good to excellent this week.
Winter wheat saw a big decline, from 66 to 43 percent good
to excellent. Eighty-five percent of the wheat crop was headed.
