Mid-Atlantic showers will continue during the next several days due to a nearly stationary disturbance. As a result, 5-day rainfall could total 2 to 4 inches or more in parts of Virginia and the Carolinas. Meanwhile, showery weather in the Northwest will gradually spread eastward, reaching the upper Midwest late in the week. Although rainfall will generally remain light, some areas from the Pacific Northwest to the upper Midwest could receive 1 to 2 inches.
