Michigan’s governor and Congressional delegation are pressing the Trump Administration to declare a federal Major Disaster in Mid-Michigan after historic flooding and dam failures.
Governor Gretchen Whitmer says flooding from heavy rainfall
events in mid-May impacted more than 3,700 properties with an estimated private
loss totaling more than $190 million to residents along with more than $55
million in response costs and damages to infrastructure.
The declaration would provide greater federal assistance
throughout Midland, Arenac, Gladwin, Iosco, and Saginaw Counties.
