Wisconsin farmers are signing up for direct payments under
the state’s Farm Support Program in large numbers.  The Wisconsin Department of Revenue says in
the first 24 hours, 3,673 farmers applied for the relief online, or about 153
applications an hour.

The direct payment program will
provide a total of $50 million in direct support to Wisconsin farmers who have
experienced losses due to COVID-19 in addition to any aid from the federal CFAP
program.
