Another round of light to moderate direct cash cattle trade has developed across much of cattle country. Southern live deals are marked at $102, that’s about $2 to $4 higher than the rest of this week’s trade, but still down about $1.50 from last week’s weighted average basis in Texas and $3 lower than the weighted averages in Kansas. Dressed trade has developed in Nebraska at mostly $162, that’s $2 to $5 higher than the business that took place earlier this week, but it’s still around $7 lower than the prior week’s weighted averages.
