A southern Illinois farmer says corn and soybeans are
looking good in his area, but they could use some rain.
Raymond Koehnke farms corn, soybeans, wheat and raises cattle in Iuka, Illinois. He tells Brownfield they have only had about a half inch of rain this month.
“In southern Illinois it looks really good. But, where we’re at, we are always about one week away from a drought.”
Koehnke says he laughs because even after 60 years of
farming he is never sure what the weather might bring.
