Researchers with the University of Michigan say seasonal and migrant farmworkers could be at a higher risk of coronavirus exposure.

Researchers say based on results of the Michigan Farmworker

Project, and because workers have been deemed “essential” during the state’s

stay home order, exposure to the virus could be exacerbated.

The project results found workers have limited or no access to healthcare, overcrowded living conditions, and working conditions including limited access to handwashing, personal protective equipment, and communication barriers which puts them at higher risk of exposure.
