At the Chicago

Mercantile Exchange, live cattle futures ended the day lower on profit-taking

and position squaring ahead of the Cattle on Feeder report.  Lower boxed beef prices also pressured

prices.  Feeder cattle were lower on the

same factors with additional pressure from the day’s modestly higher corn

trade.  June live cattle closed $.42

lower at $96.07 and August live cattle closed $.75 lower at $96.10.  August feeder cattle closed $.60 higher at

$132.97 and September feeder cattle closed $.70 lower at $134.25.

Another round of light direct cash cattle trade took place on Thursday.
