Southern Illinois Farmer Doug Winter says soybean planting is running behind schedule because of recent rains.

“We’re running about 10 days behind normal due to heavier rainfalls—we’re about 4-5 inches above what our average rainfall at this point year to date would be,” he says. “But, I think you’ll see major planting progress in soybeans over the next four-five days.”

He wrapped up corn planting but says he has about 50
percent of his soybeans to be planted.
