US Customs and Border Protection has seized nearly 20,000

pounds of prohibited pork, chicken, beef, and duck products from China between

April 6 and June 6 at the Los Angeles/Long Beach Seaport.

According to the agency, most of the products were mixed in boxes of electronics in an attempt to smuggle the prohibited goods.  Agricultural specialists seized 12 shipments that lacked the required USDA entry documentation.

The US pork industry remains vigilant in keeping pork products from African swine fever-affected countries out of the US as the disease can be spread through pork products.
