Direct cash cattle trade is quiet to start the week.  Bids and asking prices have yet to be established.  If the recent trend is any indication about this week’s activity, a light to moderate trade should develop just about every day this week.  There were wide price swings in Nebraska and Iowa last week with a full range of $157 to $167 for dressed business.  Southern live deals ranged from $98 to $102.  The weighted averages for the week will come out later today.
