An Audrain county, Missouri farmer says it was a challenging spring for Missouri’s corn crop.
Jay Schutte said extended wet and cool conditions caused him to replant much of his corn.
“We had to replant probably, I just turned it in the other
day, I think it was around 40 percent of our crop,” he said. “What we have left
is not looking the best but it’s getting too late this time of year to be
replanting.”
But he said while it’s too early to project yields, he is optimistic about this growing season.
