High temperatures and timely rains are boosting crop progress

and improving conditions in many Illinois fields.

Evan Marr farms near Jacksonville in west central Illinois.

He tells Brownfield they are starting to make fungicide decisions for rapidly

growing corn and beans.

“Corn around us started to tassel just before the 4th of July. We have a lot of these early April beans that were planted wither before corn or at the same time as corn, so those are all hitting R3 stages.”

He says some of their bean planting was delayed by spring

rains, but they are catching up now.
