While overall ag sales to China are lagging expectations, that’s not the case for red meat. The head of the US Meat Export Federation says China is ahead of the expected pace when it comes to the Phase One trade agreement purchase obligations for pork.
President and CEO Dan Halstrom says he expects those strong pork sales to continue. “The reality is China continues to be short their domestic supply due to African swine fever,” he says.
