Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has signed an executive order on new workplace safety requirements for meatpacking plants.
She cites the CDC’s reports that meat and poultry processing
plants have been a source for several outbreaks in the state and across the
U.S. because of close proximity to workers.
Facilities will now be required to conduct a daily entry screening, install physical barriers to separate employees, provide masks and group employees together in cohorts as part of the order among other stipulations.
