An
East-Central Missouri farmer says this growing season has been one of the most extreme
he’s been a part of.
Josh
Johnson tells Brownfield his crops have seen multiple wet and dry swings this
season and are currently being hit by drought conditions.
“We
were bleeding, we’re starting to hemorrhage now,” he said. “When you’re dry and
85 [degrees] and humid is not too bad, like we have today, but tomorrow is
going to be in the 90’s, ugh.”
The
Montgomery County farmer said hot temperatures paired with dry soil is taking its
toll on his corn crop.
