The latest crop report from USDA shows 84 percent of corn in
South Dakota and 81 percent of soybeans are in good to excellent condition.
Corn silking is 40 percent, well ahead of last year and
slightly ahead of the five-year average of 37 percent.
Soybeans blooming reached 63 percent, outpacing last year’s
41 percent the 56 percent normally.
The winter wheat harvest is line with the average pace of 34
percent.
