High temperatures and mostly dry weather across much of the states stressed some crops.  West Tennessee did receive some scattered rainfall which helped crops battling dry weather and high temperatures, however, crops in the rest of the state did not receive precipitation and it’s showing.

percent of soybeans are rated good to excellent with 47 percent blooming and 21

percent setting pods.  Cotton is rated 61

percent good to excellent with 80 percent of the crop squaring and 37 percent

setting bolls.  Corn is rated 74 percent

good to excellent with 81 percent silking and 35 percent in the dough stage.
