The remnants of former Hurricane Hanna will continue to weaken but may produce heavy rain (4 to 8 inches or more) and flash flooding over parts of eastern Texas. Elsewhere in the tropics, Hurricane Douglas is approaching Hawaii and should cross the island chain as a weakening hurricane or a tropical storm. Meanwhile, the complex interaction between the Southwestern monsoon circulation and a Northern cold front could result in 1- to 3-inch rainfall totals from the Four Corners States into the upper Midwest.
