Iowa’s corn and soybean condition ratings continued their slow decline this week as drought conditions in western Iowa take a toll on crops.
Iowa’s corn crop is now rated 77 percent good to excellent, with
soybeans at 76 percent. Both crops are
down three points from last week and eight points less than early July.
Twenty-three percent of corn was in the dough stage, four
days ahead of average. Fifty percent of soybeans were setting pods, five days
ahead of average.
