West Central Ohio Farmer Patty Mann says timely rains improved corn and soybean conditions after a stretch of dry conditions in early July.
“Everything has greened up, I think it grew a bunch and perked up,” she says. “The corn isn’t rolled anymore in the afternoons and also our nights have been cooler as well.”
Mann
tells Brownfield she’s anticipating normal to above normal yields.
“We’re not going to have bumper crop yields for sure because I think the dry weather probably did hurt us somewhat, but I hope we’re average or hopefully slightly above,” she says.
