Temperatures were cooler than normal last week in Indiana and timely rains helped crops continue to develop.
The USDA says crop condition ratings improved to 66 percent of corn and 67 percent of soybeans rated good to excellent.
Ninety-seven percent of the corn crop is silking and 56 percent is in the dough stage. Ninety-three percent of soybeans are blooming, and 70 percent are setting pods.
The third cutting of alfalfa hay is 42 percent complete and the third cutting of other hay is 25 percent complete.
