The Trump administration is allowing H-2A temporary visas for farm workers to be extended.  A new notice in the Federal Register published Thursday says the Department of Homeland Security and immigration officials decided to temporarily extend rule amendments published in April because of the uncertainty to the food and agriculture sector caused by COVID-19.

The change allows H-2A employees to file a new extension of stay petition until December 17th and immediately begin working for a new employer.  The new temporary final rule will remain in effect for three years.
