Direct cash cattle trade has been quiet through midday. A few bids have been reported at $169 dressed and $106.50 live in Nebraska and at $106 live in Colorado. This comes after the moderate trade that took place in the North on Thursday at mostly $169, roughly $1 higher than last week’s weighted average basis in Nebraska. A handful of deals were reported in the South at $106, fully steady with the bulk of this week’s business in the South. Asking prices for cattle left on show lists are at $107 to $108 live in the South and $172 plus, dressed in the North.
At the Mitchell livestock auction in South Dakota, feeder steers were steady to higher.
